“We always have a wonderful time with our Halloween Costume Contest, and we are so excited to offer an incredible Grand Prize this year in partnership with Alaska Airlines,” said Diana Whitt, general manager and vice president at The Shops at Wailea. “Last year, we had over 700 participants at our highly anticipated event, and we can’t wait to see the fun and creativity come to life once again in this year’s contest!”
The costume contest begins at 3pm, with an esteemed panel of judges voting to determine winners in each category. Prizes will be awarded in each category, with the overall Grand Prize winner taking home two round trip tickets to anywhere in the U.S. that Alaska Airlines flies. Judges will announce the winners and award prizes starting at 5:30pm. Following the contest, children and their families are invited to stroll The Shops for a special trick-or-treat experience that kicks off at 6pm.
In a continued effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different Maui non-profit each month with a portion of the special event parking fees going to the selected charity. The non-profit recipient for the month of October is Women Helping Women, whosemission is to end domestic violence through advocacy, education and prevention, and to offer safety, support and empowerment to women and children. The four-hour signature event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the non-profit’s parking table.
