While I am writing this, the Sun has just entered Cancer, the Summer Solstice just 12 hours away to the second Full Moon in Sagittarius. The equinoxes are powerful shifts of the seasons. These shifts change how we relate to our environment and how our personal energy flows. After the expansive Sagittarius energies had us ask many questions about meaning and where we want to go… now in July we are getting answers from deep inside while we are on this emotional journey with the New Moon in Cancer. It is the time of the year to spend more time with your family, have some holidays together or travel.
With the Sun, the New Moon, Venus and Mercury in Cancer we will be turning our attention more into the inner world of needs and feelings. All the planets in Cancer will help us to be self-conscious enough to nurture and care for our own self as well as others.
The New Moon in Cancer, July 4 at 4:00 am PST
A New Moon always starts us on a new journey for the coming months and sets the emotional tone, depending on the sign it is in.
We are starting into a new cycle of Mother Moon with an invitation to become more aware of our feelings. Our emotions are our inner guidance system to let us know if we are on the right track or heading in the wrong direction. If we ignore or stuff down our feelings we might end up with numbness or depression, cut off from a rich inner and outer experience.
Cancer is also representing the home and family we have created. In our home we can feel safe, comfortable and nourished. With the New Moon in Cancer we all can enjoy a more inward motion and make our inner life truly important.
MY SUGGESTION: Take a Mom’s day off and do something truly nourishing for yourself… make sure you give some hugs to your friends and family, go treat yourself to a massage or hang out with some friends… replenishing your oxytocin, your happy hormone.
The Full Moon in Capricorn, July 19 at 3:56 PM PST
With every Full Moon a certain archetype is coming into the forefront of our consciousness… With the Moon conjuncting Pluto before becoming full, this will be a potentially big and intense one…
As one of the earth signs, on the high end of things… Capricorn is teaching us about responsibilities, loyalty, and alignment with reality. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the archetype of the Wise Elder, The Prime Minister, the Strategist and the Father. These are all archetypes of power and maturity guiding us into a position of taking good care for others. However, on the low end of this archetype whenever positions of power are achieved, they come with a strong potential of abuse of office because of self-serving interests, as we see in politics.
I am a big believer in the personal power point of true transformation. The change and contribution we can make to the bigger picture and morphogenetic field of consciousness is by taking responsibility for things we can change in our circle of life. So instead of getting morose about the state of things in the world and our country, I choose to focus where I can be the change I want to see.
