Choice Bar is a regular ‘Aipono Restaurant Award winner that hand-select the finest organic produce grown on Maui. They can be found in three locations: Lahaina (1087 Limahana Place), Kaanapali (Whaler’s village) and the brand-spanking new location in Paia (lower Baldwin Avenue). From salads, smoothies, super burgers, to raw pizza they have something for everyone with a superfood guide to boot. Fork & Salad is a farm-to-table restaurant prizing itself on being quick, convenient and affordable. They source as much of their products organically and locally, supporting Maui farmers, ranchers and fishermen. They can be found in two locations: Kihei (Azeka Shopping Center) and most recently next to Target (Pu’unene Shopping Center). The Farmacy is a health bar dedicated to making only the freshest, high quality, natural ingredient food and drink options. They can be found in Wailuku (12 Market Street) and Pukalani (Pukalani Terrace Center). They serve made-fresh juices, salads, smoothies, soups, acai bowls and more. They offer a Wai Side Poi Baby Bowl for $7.50 and health shots (noni, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, honey, cane juice and pickled garlic) for $3.50. Joy’s Place Deli focus is on smart eating, promoting “food that has been simply prepared from fresh, organic ingredients.” Located in Kihei (1993 S. Kihei Road across from The Cove) Joy’s Place offers a range of healthy options from breakfast to lunch, sandwiches to smoothies. Other locally owned places to find fresh and healthy food for your family on ther go are the food bars at the health food stores: Mana Foods (Paia), Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods (Kihei), Alive & Well (Kahului) and Down to Earth (Kahului) all have great food and drink options. Rodeo General Store in Makawao also gets an honorable mention for their delicious acai and dragon fruit bowls and Veg Out in Haiku provides a great healthy keiki menu too.
