Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center: Youth Scholarships Available in 2016!

Makawao – Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao received a generous donation from a private donor to support the Hui’s Youth Scholarship Fund. This donation provides tuition assistance for children ages 2.5 to 17 who demonstrate financial need and wish to participate in the visual arts. Hui No‘eau is thrilled to offer an increased number of scholarships in 2016!

Located just below Makawao town on the historic Kaluanui Estate, Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center offers visual art classes, workshops, and camps for Maui youth ranging from one-day workshops to weekly sessions running 4-6 weeks. The Hui offers visual art programs in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, jewelry design, metalsmithing, printmaking, photography, digital media, ceramics, and more. Classes are led by professional teaching artists devoted to inspiring creativity of young artists and fostering a lifelong love of learning in the visual arts. The Hui also offers a series of “Family Friday” workshops that engage students and accompanying guardians in creative art projects that provide fun for all!

Students interested in receiving tuition assistance to attend classes at Hui No‘eau should complete a short application form and specify which class they are interested in attending. Pre-registration is required, so the Hui advises students or parent/guardians to complete and submit the application at least 2 weeks before the class start date to help ensure space in class is available. For teens 16+ that are interested in taking adult art classes at the Hui, please visit huinoeau.com for a complete list of all classes available. The Hui also encourages teachers to provide the application to students or families who they feel would greatly benefit from a scholarship to attend a Hui class or camp.

Interested students can obtain a Scholarship Application by contacting the Hui Registrar at (808) 572-6560 or via email at jessicah@huinoeau.com. Completed scholarship applications should be mailed directly to the Hui Registrar at:
