Aloha. We are exited, to be a part, from the start of The Mauimama. It is fascinating to witness the inception of this unique guide for “Mother Maui’s Mothers”. In the following issues we will offer useful information and great insights on “all things relationships”.
Are you up for an experiment? Please take a moment and think of the relationships you have or had with romantic partners, boyfriend, girlfriend, lover, mate, your fiancée, husband or wife. Now reflect on your family: your baby, siblings, parents and relatives. Don’t rate them, just notice that they are relationships. Notice the connection you have with your friends or acquaintances, in your business or job with colleagues, coworkers, boss, partners, employees or clients. Consider your neighbors and your community? What’s your relationship with your home, to food, nature and the environment? How do you relate to your pet or animals in general? How is your relationship to money, possessions and time? Do you relate to your body, your health and your feelings? Now try to think of anything that is not related to something else! Cross your heart and don’t tell a lie… how many things did you come up with that have no relationship?
Everything is somehow in relationship with something. The common denominator is our ability to connect: to our surroundings, with another and our Self. People relate on every level of life, in all kinds of situations to varying degrees. Relationships come in all shapes and forms. Some we naturally select ourselves, while others are chosen for us by some quirky circumstances. Sometimes we get lucky and thank heaven for bestowing its grace upon us. And yes, there are those relationships, where we ask ourselves, “What have I done to deserve this?”
We believe that mastering the ability to relate is an important aspect of life and ultimately determines if we are truly happy or not. Is your ability to relate optimal? Who instructed you how to do relationships? Any school curriculum that taught you how to properly relate or love? Like most human beings you may have gleaned what you know from your parents. Now, who educated them to navigate the vast dynamics of relationships? The truth is, most parents are too occupied raising their children. We have yet to find anyone, who would say that their parents sufficiently primed them for successful relationships. Think about it; are you ready to break the cycle?
If you choose to become a relationship-role-model for your baby, we offer the tools that will transform your relationships. And guess what…by doing that, you will shape the way your children relate throughout their life.
Stay tuned for the next nine months as we go through the nine steps that will help you on this path.
