PATCH is a Childcare Resource and Referral Agency
PATCH can help you find Child Care!
Looking for child care can be confusing and time consuming, but you don’t have to do it alone. PATCH can help you take the guesswork out of finding child care through their Enhanced Referral service!
Browse their child care database anytime with limited specifications. PATCH only refers to licensed child care providers of all types, who meet State training requirements, and which generally offer more hours of service than traditional babysitting services.
PATCH offers over 100 FREE child care workshops in an effort to increase the availability and quality of child care settings through career development opportunities. They support statewide content standards of Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge (ASK) and Child Development Associate credential (CDA) subject areas. Trainings are open to all caregivers such as: family child care, preschool staff, infant and toddler staff, before and after school care programs, parents, medical professionals, babysitters and informal child care.
Preschool Open Doors (POD) can assist with preschool tuition:
POD promotes school readiness by providing child care subsidies to eligible families for the year prior to kindergarten. The Department of Human Services (DHS) contracts with PATCH to run the program. The DHS administers the program in collaboration with the Executive Office on Early Learning.
For the 2015-16 school year, priority will be children born August 1 – December 31, 2010 who are under-served or at-risk. Eligible families select the DHS-licensed group child care facility (i.e. preschool) of their choice. Household size and monthly gross income also are used to determine priority. POD does not require parents/guardians to be employed, in school, or job training to qualify for assistance. Income eligibility for tuition subsidies is based on a monthly gross family income not exceeding the amounts below. The subsidy amount is based on a sliding fee scale using the family monthly gross income and the maximum POD rate allowed for the selected preschool.
