On Friday morning, December 11, we discovered that one of our storage containers here at the baseyard had been broken into and a collection of our tools and machinery stolen. A police report has been filed with the Maui Police Department.
Despite this untimely incident, we remain steadfastly optimistic. Desperate people do desperate things, and we have compassion and empathy for those individuals. We choose to embrace this opportunity to learn, exercise and experience perseverance; for the occasion to reach out and witness kōkua from our community in the face of adversity.
We remain encouraged by the fact that we are blessed to belong to the tight-knit community of Maui, and to have your friendship and support to lean on.
This holiday season, we humbly request that you keep us in your hearts. We look forward to continuing to mālama both the environment and the people of Maui Nui in the New Year.
We welcome any information that might lead to the return of our equipment, no questions asked. A list of our needs can be found at MalamaMauiNui.org. If you have any questions or wish to connect with us, please do so by replying to this email or by calling 877-2524.
Mahalo for your kōkua and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
