Dear Aunty Tina, I’m 7 months pregnant and my feet and fingers are already swelling up. Is there anything I can do to help keep the swelling to a minimum?
Yes. Make sure you’re drinking lots of water and eating protein, vitamin B6, kelp instead of salt and take a walk in the tide pools or a stream or soak your feet in cold water at the end of the day (constricting the blood vessels and improving circulation).
Cucumbers are my favorite! One a day really seems to help.
Avoid processed foods and stay away from breads. I know that two pieces of toast become three, with lots of butter and lots of jam and it’s delicious but you can live without it!
