Hyundai Tournament of Champions 2016

On Wednesday January 6, 2016 through Sunday January 10, 2016 winners of all 2015 PGA Tour tournaments are qualified to gather on Maui’s very own Kapalua Resort to compete for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

For those use us lucky enough to live here on Maui this is an amazing opportunity to see the best golfers in the world – including world #1 – 22 year old Jordan Spieth, who won The Masters and The U.S. Open this year and narrowly missed winning all four! Some of the others qualifiers are Australian Jason Day – 2015 PGA Champion, 2015 Player’s Champion Rickie Fowler (many kid’s favorite), Bubba Watson – who drives the ball well over 300 yards, Zach Johnson – 2015 Open Champion, Returning Hyundai Tournament of Champions Champion Patrick Reed, and many more.

Watching world class players at the top of their game up close and personal is rare at any time. To watch them at one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world is even rarer!

Tickets cost $15 – $45 and KIDS accompanying paying adults are FREE! Tickets are on sale at the gate, online at Ticketmaster, and at the Kapalua Golf Resort golf shops.

This tournament is a great way to introduce your children to the world of golf. Learning the game of Golf is a great way to help children develop many redeeming virtues required of golfers such as honesty, good sportsmanship, respect, tenacity, and emotional control. Knowing the game, its etiquette, and customs as well as having the ability to play it in a social or business setting are invaluable. Many deals in the business and political world have been made over a game of golf.

This event can be something the whole family can enjoy outdoors, being active (as the Kapalua Resort sits on the steep slopes of the West Maui Mountains) all while enjoying breath taking views of Molokai, Lanai, and whales jumping and fluking.

For this event spectators must park at the Lahaina Civic Center where free shuttles will take you to and from the Plantation Course.

For more information go to or PGATOUR.COM – Official Home of the FedExCup.

And once the kids have the bug take them to our Municipal course at Waiehu. I personally think its one of the best pieces of land to play golf on in Hawaii, at great kama’aina rates!
