The Butterfly Effect 2017

The Butterfly Effect is celebrating its 11th year in the making! The little gathering on Maui has expanded around the globe and is back on April 15th for its traditional Aloha Paddle for Women. The all-women water sport downwinder will take place on the North Shore of Maui, Hawaii. The course has changed from last year to be a 3-mile paddle perfect for all levels.

Bring your sisters, moms, daughters, aunties, and friends! It is a perfect day to celebrate each other, nature, health, and happiness! The “beach festival” this year and all activities outside of the paddle will take place at the new Nourish Cafe in Paia.  Sign up online is mandatory to be on the invitational list.  Thanks to the funds raised during this event and others, The Butterfly Effect has been able to donate over $45,000 to charities worldwide, helping them fight breast-cancer, improve education for at-risk children and youth, care for the environment, prevent domestic and sexual violence and more.

The Butterfly Effect is a global ALOHA movement that started here on Maui with Tatiana Howard and her windsurfing friends. Together they created their dream event, highlighting women in watersports through a non-competitive course. This year The Butterfly Effect will include a health and fitness week with collaborating studios from around the island, a hike, a movie night, and the annual aloha paddle including gifts for paddlers, give-aways, lunch, and Lululemon lounge. It has now grown into 50+ events in 19 countries with thousands of “Butterflies”.

The collaborative events’ message is to share Aloha, BE kind, BE love, and BE The Effect you wish to see in the world, always moving forward by one conscious step towards betterment at a time.
