Beach Category: Beaches
- If you’re driving north down Front Street, make a turn towards the ocean (makai) onto Ala Moana Street. Drive down Ala Moana until you see the Lahaina Jodo Mission on your left, the Puupiha Cemetery to your right, and room for cars to park at the very end of the street. This is the north end
- To access the South end drive down Puunoa Place (the next street down) and park on the street. You will see the little blue beach access signs.
- No bathroom but little foot shower south end, full shower north end.
- No lifeguard.
On a clear day this beach is heaven. Clear calm shallow waters, sandy beach, endless views, snorkeling galore and definitely kid friendly. The North end generally has better parking and a little bit of shade. But if you want to walk to Front Street stay the South end. Again not much shade so umbrella or beach tent recommended.
Good food options are: Choice bar has great healthy food as does Bamboo Fresh at 505. Anue Nue Juice bar on front street has great fresh juices and Mr Sub on Lahaina Luna (which has Kombucha on tap and healthy sandwiches) has air conditioning which feels great after a few hours at the beach.
You are also very close to Mark Ellman’s restaurant row with Fridas, Honu, and Mala…all offering fresh food options, gluten free, and vegetarian and vegan options (Honu especially).
