    • Located in the Ahihi Kinau Natural Area Reserve, has a rocky shoreline. The bay features several small coves that lie between rocky points. These are often covered with tidal pools. Some of the coves have small sandy beaches, but most of them have coral-rubble beaches.
    • The bay is protected from strong currents, but during periods of storms and heavy surf, the water inside the coves can become very turbulent.
    • Nice for snorkeling.
    • Spinner dolphins are often seen here.

La Perouse Bay is really unique. Not many beach areas but lots of lava fields. There are a few pockets of sand  but you go there mainly for the snorkeling. If you can get there at sunrise and swim out you may also be lucky enough to swim with a pod of dolphins or at least be near them or atlases be in the water at the same time;)
